Someone Left a Postcard

A quiet note from the front desk about a postcard left behind in one of the rooms.

Someone left a postcard behind today.

It was found on the nightstand after one of the rooms was cleaned. No stamp. No address. Nothing to say where it was supposed to go.

Just three words written on the back.

Made it this far.

We do not know if it was meant for someone, or if whoever wrote it simply wanted to remember the moment.

People leave things behind at motels all the time.

Receipts. Maps. Sunglasses. Books with folded corners.

Most of them eventually find their way into a box behind the front desk, waiting for someone to come back.

The postcard is there now, too.

Maybe someone will return for it.

Maybe not.

For now, we will keep it safe.
